Vikings liked to tell long, exciting tales of adventure and battle. These stories are called sagas. They were about great deeds done by famous heroes.
Sagas were passed down from generation to generation. They have taught us about Viking culture and values.
Many stories were about the Viking god Thor and his powerful hammer. Thor was the god of thunder. He guarded Asgard, the home of the gods. Thor flew through the sky like a modern-day superhero. But he went around in a chariot pulled by goats.
