Life was hard in Viking days. Vikings had few medicines, so many people died of diseases. There were a lot of wars. Not many people lived past the age of 40.
Food was scarce in winter, and people often went hungry. The Scandinavian climate was cold and windy. Still, the Vikings managed to live useful lives – as skilled craftspeople, clever merchants, and hardworking farmers who produced enough food, clothing, and tools for their families.
