Descending from the mountains, you enter the Intermountain Region, which lies between the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada.
Unlike any other place in the United States, this region features drier and lower land, which forms deep canyons. Much of the land is deep red, orange, and brown. Our country’s largest desert is here, along with some of its most beautiful places. But there's not a lot of greenery.
