Coming down from the mountains, you enter the Intermountain Region, which lies between the Rockies and the Sierra Nevada.
This area is not like any other place in the United States. The land is drier and lower, and it forms deep canyons. Instead of rich greens, you see mostly the deep red, orange, and brown of the earth. Our country’s largest desert is here, along with some of its most beautiful places.
