What do you do when you paint a picture? Maybe you look at the colors you have. Then you decide what you’ll create. People in a community often use resources in a similar way. They may ask, “What resources do we have? How can we use them? What do we want to make?”
People near coasts, for example, often eat fish – an ocean resource. People who make electrical wires need copper. They dig it out of the Earth. Soil is a resource, too. Plants need rich soil that is good for growing.
