“Pass the milk, please!”
“Can I have some orange juice?”
“These blueberries are yummy.”
How do foods like these get to your table? They follow a series of steps from farm to processing to store and then to your home in your community.
From the farm, the first stop is a processing plant. That’s where some foods are simply washed, boxed, and stored. Others become raw materials – resources that are used to make a product. These foods may be cut up and cooked at the plant. Then the food goes to a market, a place where people buy and sell goods.
