Here’s a bird’s-eye view of a farm. Many of today’s farms raise just one kind of plant or animal. But others raise a variety of plants and animals.
If you were a bird, maybe you’d land on top of this farm’s silo. A silo is a tall, round tower for holding animal feed. You could also perch on a henhouse, on a cow barn, or near a pigsty. Farm animals such as cattle and sheep roam outdoors in fields called pastures. And you’d probably find tasty bugs. The farmer will thank you if you gobble them up!
