A bush pilot is preparing to visit an Inupiaq village in northern Alaska. She’ll be delivering important supplies, such as food and medical equipment, to a remote area. There are very few roads there. If a resident needs to leave the village, a plane might be the only option.
In Hawaii, a helicopter pilot welcomes a family of tourists. He’ll be taking them from Oahu to the Big Island. Along the way, the family will see the Kilauea volcano and lava fields. Views of craters and the ocean fill the sky. Planes and helicopters travel back and forth to different islands within the archipelago, or group of islands.
