The tundra is a cold place where the wind blows hard. Very little rain or snow falls here.
In summer, the sun shines almost 24 hours a day. In winter, it is dark most of the time. Most of the land is frozen all year long. As a result, the roots of plants cannot grow deep. That is why short shrubs and mosses live here, but some flowers also survive.
