The United States has a uniquely diverse population. Some of us are native to this very land, while many of us (or our forebears) come from Europe, from Asia, from Africa, from the Middle East, and from South America.
Despite these differences, we unite to form a single nation like no other on the planet. Our unshakable belief in the legitimacy, or validity, of our government—whether or not we agree with its leaders—is part of what holds us together. Part, too, are the experiences and symbols we share.
