The French and Indian War was a long and complicated conflict. It began between the British and the French and their Native American allies.
But in 1756, Britain officially declared war on France. At that point, the fighting began in Europe. The war grew to what became known there as the Seven Years’ War. It was the first global conflict of all time. At its height, the war spanned five continents. By February 1763, the French and Indian/Seven Years’ War was over.
