The Wright brothers’ hard work did not end at Kitty Hawk in 1903. Back in Dayton, they continued test flights through 1905.
They flew their plane at Huffman Prairie, a 100-acre cow pasture near Dayton. Although anyone passing by could see them, most Americans could not, and the public doubted that the brothers had a real flying machine.
