Observatories are places to study the sky.
The oldest surviving one is South Korea’s Cheomseongdae Observatory. It was built around A.D. 647. With just their naked eyes, sky watchers there could see about 10,000 stars a night. With big reflecting telescopes today, we can see many billions.
