With telescopes, bigger is always better.
Larger mirrors and lenses let in more light, giving astronomers a clearer, deeper view of space. In the next two decades, several new telescopes and technologies will improve the view from Earth. What will they be used for? To answer old questions about the universe, like, “Does life exist elsewhere?” They’ll also look for new objects and new challenges.
