With telescopes, bigger is better.
Larger mirrors and lenses let in more light. This gives astronomers a clearer, deeper view of space. In the next two decades, new telescopes and technologies should make our view even better. What will they do? We hope they’ll answer old questions about the universe, like: “Does life exist elsewhere?” They’ll also look for new objects and challenges.
