Sumerians, Babylonians, and Assyrians shared the same basic religious beliefs and the same gods, though the names were sometimes different.
They believed that human beings were created to serve the gods. Gods looked and acted like people but had supernatural powers. Spirits (good and bad) and demons also affected the lives of humans.
