Why do ice ages begin or end? There isn’t just one reason. Many things can warm or cool the Earth.
Small changes in the atmosphere can do it. Small changes in ocean currents can do it. So can the locations of landmasses. Even where Earth is in relation to the Sun can affect its temperature. Slight shifts or changes happen naturally. Together, and over thousands of years, they can put Earth into a deep freeze.
