If you want to see moose and wolves and snow, go to a northern (boreal) forest.
Here, it is cold for six to eight months of the year. But in the summer, the temperature may reach 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Northern forests do not get a lot of snow, but the snow stays for a long time because of the cold. There is not much rain either. A layer of frozen ground keeps the rain from sinking in. So there are many bogs and lakes. (A bog is an area of the ground that is always wet.) Most of the trees in a northern forest are evergreens.
