You’ve always liked living in Byzantium, but lately, things here are becoming very exciting!
The emperor, Constantine the Great, has decided to turn your city into the new capital of the Roman Empire! Workers are building high protective walls around Byzantium, and it looks like the emperor plans to enlarge the city. Already, many new people are moving here from other parts of the empire. There will be grand new buildings, public baths, theaters, and a university. They’re even bringing statues all the way from Rome. You can’t wait for workers to finish building the new Hippodrome, a stadium where chariot races will be held. They say it will be big enough to accommodate 100,000 people!
