The emperor, Constantine the Great, has decided that your city will be the new capital of the Roman Empire! Workers are building high walls to protect the city. It looks like the emperor is planning to make the city much bigger. Already, lots of new people are moving here from other parts of the empire. There will be grand new buildings, public baths, theaters, and a university. They’re even bringing statues all the way from Rome. You can’t wait for the new Hippodrome, the stadium where the chariot races are held, to be finished. They say it will be big enough to hold 100,000 people!
