The Trojan War may or may not have taken place, but it has become one of the best-known stories of ancient Greece.
It is said to have taken place in the thirteenth century B.C., long before the height of Greek civilization. Near the end of the war, to seize Troy, the Greeks built an enormous wooden horse on wheels and left it outside the city. Then they returned to their boat and sailed away.
