Ancient China

Can you guess where the ancient Chinese civilization in Asia began? That’s right! It was along rivers, just like in Mesopotamia and Egypt.

We can thank the ancient Chinese for a lot of interesting and important inventions. They invented the processes of making paper and printing. They also learned how to make silk cloth. Their silk cloth was so soft that people nearly 4,000 miles away wanted to buy it!

The Chinese had a powerful military, too. They built the Great Wall to defend themselves against their enemies.

But the ancient Chinese were not serious all the time. They created ways to have fun, too, by making kites and even inventing fireworks!
