Some clouds produce rain. Other clouds produce snow. How come?
Clouds are made of tiny water droplets. The water droplets freeze into ice crystals when the air is below freezing point. The crystals form around bits of dirt that have been carried into the atmosphere by wind. As the crystals become heavier, they fall to the ground as snowflakes.
