Benjamin Franklin was born in 1706 in Boston. He was the 10th son in his family and the 15th child!
The family was poor. At 12, Ben worked in his brother’s print shop. At 17, he ran away from home and went to Philadelphia. There, he opened his own print shop. He started a popular newspaper and wrote Poor Richard’s Almanack. The book became a best-seller.
Franklin was interested in science and performed many experiments with electricity.
