Rain forest peoples don’t grow up with the luxuries and conveniences that industrialized societies are accustomed to. They have only the raw materials that the forest itself provides. They use these to best advantage in making their shelters, clothing, and tools. The jungle also provides food and transportation. Over countless generations, rain forest natives have learned to use the forest to meet all their needs. Their ingenious creations show us that necessity truly is the mother of invention.
