Most facial muscles are like stretchy sheets. They fit over your skull, fat, and cartilage. Cartilage is tough tissue that forms your nose, outer ear, and other body parts. Many facial muscles don’t attach to bone. They attach to other muscles, or to skin. Especially the muscles that help you make expressions.
