In 1993, this huge nor’easter closed every East Coast airport from Atlanta to Nova Scotia. It dumped snow from northern Florida to Maine and spawned about 50 tornadoes. About 300 people died, and 10 million people lost electric power. Winter weather seldom gets more extreme.
