The huge continent of Asia has many different kinds of deserts.
The Gobi is a cold desert of gravel and rock. It has snowy winters, and temperatures drop as low as –40°F. Camels that live there have thick hair and two humps. The sandiest desert in the world is the incredibly hot Arabian Desert. About one-third of it is sand, and it has a lot of oil underground. The Negev is a rocky, mountainous desert. Parts of it have been turned into a green land of trees by good planting, farming, and irrigation techniques.
