First, the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth. Ten years later, another group left England to seek religious freedom. This group called themselves Puritans.
Over the next half century, the Puritans played a big part in settling New England. They wanted to practice their religion in their own way. They didn’t put up with others’ opinions. Puritans often fought among themselves. New settlements and even new colonies grew out of the disagreements in their group.
