Rain, Snow, and Hail

Have you ever gone to bed at night thinking it’s going to snow? Maybe you’ll get a day off from school. 

You can spend the day sledding and making snow forts. Then you wake up and, oh no, it’s raining!

What happened? It just wasn’t cold enough inside the clouds for snow to form. Whether it’s snowing or raining, the moisture you see falling to Earth began as zillions of tiny water droplets in the clouds.
