Imagine what it would take to build a brand-new nation. You might be a great king, fighting enemies all around to save your people. You might be a skilled farmer, growing beautiful fruit trees on what was once a rocky hillside. Maybe you’d be a builder and create a temple, or a prophet believed to see the future of kings and pharaohs.
Israel became a powerful nation thanks to all of these types of people. However, it still had to fight to survive.
