Imagine you’re living 10,000 years ago. It is evening, and you’re sitting around a fire with friends. The sky is full of bright points of light. What are they? How did they get there?
You try to make sense of what you see. You imagine that you see pictures formed by the points of light, which we call stars today. You make up stories about the star pictures, which we now call constellations. We still tell the ancient stories about the stars, but scientists today also try to answer all those old questions about the universe.
