If there were a hall of fame for South American countries, Brazil would probably be the first one in it.
Spanning three time zones, Brazil is the biggest country in South America – and in the whole southern hemisphere. It has the world’s second-longest river. The world’s largest rainforest. And the greatest variety of animals of any country. Not to mention that it is the world’s biggest exporter of coffee and the only country in South America where Portuguese is the official language. All this in a country not quite the size of the United States.
