If it’s raining out today where you live, that’s weather. But how much it rains in an average summer is climate.
The climate of a place is how the weather behaves over a long period of time. Climate is affected by the location of a place on Earth, especially by its distance from the equator. Places near the equator tend to be warmer because they get more direct sunlight during the year. Places near the poles tend to be colder and to have big differences between the typical weather in summer and winter.
