Saturn is named after the Roman god of the harvest.
It’s a gaseous giant planet. Hydrogen and helium lie under its thick atmosphere. Saturn may also have a rocky core a little bigger than Earth.
This planet is known for its huge rings. It also has bands of clouds and swirling storms, like Jupiter does. We can’t see Saturn’s cloud stripes as well as we can see Jupiter’s. The top of Saturn’s atmosphere is foggier. Saturn is tilted, like Earth. So it has seasons too. Giant storms flare up during some seasons.
