Lungs are complicated things with lots of parts and pieces. Many things can go wrong with them.
Some problems, like asthma, make breathing hard. Other problems, like those caused by pollution, make it hard for the lungs to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. Either way, lung trouble is serious.
