What do you think of when you picture a hero? Do you see someone in a cape with superpowers?
That’s no surprise! Many people think that heroes are found only in books and movies. In fact, heroes are all around us. Some are extraordinary people. Some are well known. Others are ordinary, or everyday, people. Some lived long ago, and others are alive today.
What do all heroes have in common? Heroes take individual action to try to help others. They make a difference in other people’s lives because of their words, actions, or discoveries. They do things that are brave or important.
