Europeans had soon mapped, charted, and claimed much of the world. Nations would never again be unaware of what lay beyond the horizon.
Instead, the great differences between one place and another slowly began to fade away. The Age of Exploration may have ended, but pioneers, colonies, settlements, and global trade were just getting started. From that point on, the fortunes and futures of people all over the world were forever tied together.
