Sharks have an endless supply of teeth. Some get a new set every few weeks.
Not so with people. We have two sets of teeth – milk teeth and permanent teeth. When milk teeth fall out, permanent teeth replace them. But if a permanent tooth falls out, another tooth does not grow in. Losing a permanent tooth is a problem. Over the years, people designed different materials and tools to take care of permanent teeth and solve the problem.
