Turn on a computer, a TV, or a hair dryer. They show electricity’s power, too. Most of the time, though, you can’t see electricity. You can’t smell it, feel it, or hear it, either. But it’s hard at work.
Some scientists feel that the word electricity is misused. To them, the stuff coming out of a wall socket is electrical energy. Electrical energy comes from the movement of tiny, invisible particles called electrons. To understand electrical energy, you have to think very, very small.
