China is such an enormous country, you might think that all the peninsulas and nearby islands are part of it. But they aren’t.
The Korean Peninsula is a large finger of land extending off the east coast of China. It is home to two countries. Nearby, with the Sea of Japan on the west and the Pacific Ocean on the east, are four large islands and thousands of smaller ones. These make up the country of Japan.
