For her travel book, Fielding's Amazon, Pamela Bloom made up a short quiz for anyone thinking of taking an Amazon vacation.
Here are a few of her questions: Do you flinch in the face of flying bugs. What about ticks, gnats, ants, or spiders? Would you faint at the sight of a snake? How would you feel if you came home with your arms and legs eaten up by mosquitoes? Do you like mud?
An Amazon vacation does not include a fancy hotel or a bus tour of a city. It can be hard work and at times a little scary. But it can also be exciting and fun.
